Children’s Ministry & Events

Cradle Roll

When we baptize your baby, they are placed on an online “family learning page” for the parents. It’s a great way to worship and learn with your little one!

First Communion

This is a 1–3-hour class (depending on the group). The kids are enrolled in a class that teaches about our two sacraments: Baptism and Holy Communion. Children must be able to read to be enrolled. We ask that parents attend with their children.

Trunk or Treat

Every year we decorate cars and offer holiday extras like Bouncy Houses, Crafts, Food, and/or Games in our parking lot for our neighborhood.

Children’s Christmas Pageant

Every year the Sunday before Christmas our children do a Christmas play during worship. Please watch it on YouTube!

Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny is here! We have crafts, snacks, games, and of course the egg hunt. This is a community event in our yard, parking lot, if weather permits, or indoors if we have inclement weather. All are invited!

Art Work

We teach a variety of art using multi-media applications completing a beautiful artwork for each child attending.

Craft Day is held every month for kids to gather with their families for crafts.

Outings

Trips are taken together with our families to the zoo, splash land, etc.

Jr./Sr. High Youth Group

Confirmation

This is a two- year program for 7-8^th grade students. They are assigned a mentor to get to bond with, and complete a missions project together. Every Sunday at 9am the students gather with the pastors and other teachers to study, Old and New Testament and Luther’s Small Catechism. They go on retreats and do mission work as a class. They are confirmed in a worship service in May.

Monthly Meetings

This group meets monthly for a variety of activities: fellowship, learning, service, outings, etc.

Mission Trip

With Grace Lutheran, one of our sister churches on Monroe Street, to Tennessee a year to build, fellowship, and do tourist activities.

30-Hour Famine

Held in February. Teens fast for 30 hours, gather for learning, mission work, worship, and activities. The teens raise money for the World Vision Hunger program.

Lock-In

Once or twice a year we plan the teen lock-in weekend. A themed weekend of fun, relational activities, and worship.

Retreat

Once or twice a year we plan for a youth retreat. This too is themed, one day events that encourage our teens to form a stronger relationship with God and each other.

ELCA Youth Convention

Our youth go to our national youth convention. They raise money and go to another state for the assembly with thousands of kids from around the country.

5th Sunday

Our Youth lead Worship every 5th Sunday (10 am) and have their Youth Group meeting at 9am.
